Development and Management of an Effective Reading Intervention Program 

The purpose of this presentation is to share results of a Response to Intervention (RTI) program for struggling readers in grades K-3. Presenters will demonstrate activities, discuss implementation, and share results regarding the effectiveness of the program on words read correct per minute as measured by the Dynamic Indicator of Basic Early Literacy Skills. Participants will gain knowledge about the development of reading skills, importance of early intervention, and practical implementation of RTI programs. Participants will discover a step-by-step process for effectively setting up, monitoring, and evaluating an RTI program. All skill levels will benefit from this session. There will be advanced discussion of measurement and program evaluation for more experienced practitioners.
